JUBILEE HOUSE APPROACH TO COVID-19

Staying Covid-Safe at Jubilee House

In the ongoing battle against Coronavirus, we have maintained a number of processes you would expect to see, as well as implementing a number of further safeguarding measures that go over and above, to ensure Jubilee House is one of the safest in the country.

What makes Jubilee House different?

Our 8-point protection plan

1. Meticulous Cleaning

Our already-thorough hygiene & cleanliness measures have been reviewed and enhanced through the purchase of a state-of-art Lotus Pro Cleaning System that safely converts cold water into a stabilised ozone and as such a powerful sanitiser and cleaner to ensure our home is COVID secure.

2. Plenty of PPE

Through the creation of a dedicated COVID Steering Group including a PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Lead, we have ensured we have ample stock levels of appropriate equipment for all our staff team, our residents, and their relatives for the immediate future.

3. Rigorous Testing

On top of twice daily ‘soft testing’ including thermal temperature & well-being checks, we are one of only a small number of care homes in the country to have secured regular mass testing on a weekly basis for every one of our staff team, fortnightly for all our residents. This rigorous testing process enables us to track & report on data trends with clear guidelines on steps to take should there be any positive results. All home testing visits will be risk assessed and appropriate PPE worn.

4. Specialist Training

On top of all mandatory ‘Control of Infectious Diseases’ training that our staff undertake annually, all the key team have had ‘Enhanced Infection Control’ and specialist ‘COVID-19 Awareness and Control’ training. This ensures that awareness of our residents safety and well-being remains at the forefront of everything we do.

5. Safe Visitation

Family and Friends being able to visit safely and to socialise with their loved ones, is core to their well-being, and is something we have been working very hard to achieve during lockdown. We already have an online scheduling system for families to book individual time slots to visit loved ones safely in our gardens, and we are soon enhancing this experience by taking delivery of secure Visiting Pods to ensure these essential visits can take place round the clock regardless of the weather.

6. Regular Contact with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Ensuring we are adhering to the Care Quality Commissions Emergency Support Framework.

7. Segregated Spaces

Segregated floors and units within the home to ensure no staff transfer across the home and that residents mix in small socially distance groups.

8. Specialist Activities

Our wellbeing team are offering a full range of specialised activities to ensure residents remain physically and mentally stimulated. Over the last few months these have included Virtual Art Classes, Quiz Evenings, and Baby and Toddler groups to keep the generations connected. We have held socially distanced Zumba, Crazy Golf, Boules, and Darts to inspire mental stimulation as well as physical.

Connecting with loved ones, while staying safe

Enabling our residents to connect with their loved ones in a safe and comfortable environment has been our number one priority during the pandemic.

Which is why we are delighted to introduce the brand new Jubilee House CarePod.
