WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE THIS CARE HOME IN LEAMINGTON SPA

Rated Good to Outstanding

Not all care homes are made equal. What we have at Berkley Care is the very best in care and standards of living. Nothing matters more to us than our residents’ well-being and that is why we have put together a team of experts who rise to the challenge.

  • All-inclusive Living: You’ve no doubt seen us refer to this elsewhere. We mention our all-inclusive package a great deal. Why? Because we truly believe that it matters. We don’t want families living in fear thinking that at any time they could be hit with an unexpected bill. We want our residents, and their families, to enjoy all that is on offer. All with that added peace of mind from knowing it’s all covered with one simple fee.
  • Exceptional team of carers: Our carers are everything to us. The work that they do is nothing short of incredible and we couldn’t wish for better when it comes to the care that our residents receive. We look after our staff to the extent that we become one big family. This means that our staff commit to Jubilee House for the long term which is great for us and our residents.

Pete Wilkes

Maintenance Manager

Before attending College and University, I spent several years working in a family construction business gaining a basic understanding of the key elements of property maintenance and refurbishment. Then, since graduating from Napier University (Edinburgh) in 1998, I returned to the industry and have worked for over 14 years in the education and care sector as both an estate and facilities manager.

My facilities management experience includes WCS Care Group with 13 residential care homes across Warwickshire, the E-ACT multi academy trust with schools in Daventry, and the Princethorpe Foundation, which has schools in Kenilworth, Rugby and Princethorpe. Prior to this I held management positions at the Warwickshire College Group.

I had day to day responsibility for the caretakers, porters, maintenance staff, contractors and the external cleaning contract. I also prepared specifications for the minor works programme and oversaw major refurbishment projects. These educational sites had an extensive range of buildings, so I have experience in both modern and historic property management. I also provided support for H & S matters, security, and safeguarding, whilst ensuring that all statutory inspections/services were carried out and that buildings were always operational.

I am very pleased to be joining the team at Jubilee House and look forward to working with you.

HOW WE EMBRACE TECHNOLOGY FOR THE BENEFIT OF OUR HOME

How we embrace technology for the benefit of our home

There is little denying that technology continues to develop at breathtaking speeds. We are always keen to stay abreast of what’s new and what can add to what we already offer. We will never approach technology for technology’s sake. Whatever we adopt has to come with tangible benefits and can never be seen as taking away the human element of what we do. Here’s a look at just some of the ways that we’re embracing change:

Connecting residents with their families

COMMUNICATIONS

Connecting residents with their families

Each floor of Jubilee House will be equipped with iPads for the use of our residents. Through the use of FaceTime, WhatsApp, and Skype, these iPads give our residents a great way to stay close to their families and friends.

Covid-safe Care Lodge

COVID-SAFE CARE POD

Enabling physical distancing

As we all know, 2020 brought about unprecedented social restrictions. We have addressed this with our state-of-the-art care pods in our homes – a garden room which enables residents to meet and see their families in person while remaining safe.

Technology to improve our processes

IN-ROOM TECHNOLOGY

Utilising technology to provide better care

Jubilee House is a care home that moves with the times. As long as there are benefits to our residents, we’re keen to embrace all that technology has to offer. This has led to the use of electronic care planning, acoustic monitoring, a high-speed internet connection, and on-demand TV.

MAKING THE MOST OF LEAMINGTON AND WARWICKSHIRE

Embracing our local community

We have worked hard over the years to establish some great links within our local community. This has led to us having ties with social groups, sports teams, and religious institutions. For us, enabling our residents to be part of their community is a vital part of what we do. We love the chance to get out and allow our residents to enjoy all that’s great about this area.

Being a part of the wider community
